ANUVAHOOD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPsQBNxt-Y8

What techniques does the trailer use to catch and hold the attention of the viewers?
This trailer uses flashing images to catch the viewers’ attention, and also the trailer uses these flashing images to introduce all the main characters of this movie. This gives the viewers a good insight of who is in the film. Also funky coloured text appears with different phrases for example “He thinks he’s got the moves” This draws in big attention to the viewers. Also the text appears with reviews from newspapers and a rating is given which shows viewers that this movie may be well known.

How are youths represented in the trailer?
The youths in this trailer are shown to be very uncaring, irresponsible and up to no good all the time. They are portrayed in a negative but funny sort of way. They are also seen as dangerous as in one of the scenes a young boy is carrying a knife to sort out his problems and this automatically gives a negative view on youths.

Who is this trailer aimed at?
This trailer is aimed at young youths around the same age of the young actors in this trailer. So the trailer is mostly aimed at teenagers and also young adults. There are a few scenes and strong language which also indicates that this film is aimed at an older target also the story to this film is very grown up and is another reason why it may be targeted at an older audience.

What characteristics of Hollywood can be seen in the trailer?
In this trailer there is barely any characterises which match up to a Hollywood trailer. This is obviously shown in this trailer as it is filmed in a council estate area and public transports are used whereas with a Hollywood trailer it would be set some where more posh. A charteristic which is Hollywood would be the review of a magazine of the movie and also this movie shows the film character’s name towards the end. This film is very low budget which is very opposite to a Hollywood movie.

Technophobes?

BBC three is launching a new programme called Technophobes. This programme follows 5 people who are afraid of technology.

AUDIENCE:
The program would most likely appeal to teenages and mainly the older audiences that can relate to being afraid of technology themselves. The reason for this is because teenagers use technology as everyday life. As for gender this would appeal to all types of genders as this phobia may occur to anyone and would target middle class as this channel may appeal to them more.

INSTITUTION:
This channels airs after 19.00. The programme Technophobes starts later and that would mean that children would not watch it and it will appeal to an older target audienceIt would also tend to be an observational documentary type as it would be a programme based on observing the lives of these 5 people

MEDIA FORMS:
There is no voice over in this programme. There is also no presenter of this programme which means the people in this programme will have to present themselves. They talk about different subjects and one would be over coming their phobia.

REPRESENTATION:
In this programme i would have to say there is a negative representation is this is because of how people are towards technology. it is now the 21st Century and people should adapt to the lifestyle of the 21st Century.

Paranormal activity

Paranormal Activity is a horror movie which now has a following series of 3 different movies.

The review on the front cover of the DVD is there to inform the audience of what they should expect from the movie. It is also a good technique to get viewers because people want to know if the film is good or bad before they actually decide to watch it so putting this up on the cover will attract the audience.
Threatning images of the scenes that are possibly in the film gives a heavier effect on the audiences mind and the shadow on the door and women scared tells us its a horror movie. The image in particular looks more realistic. Also the tag line at the bottom "DONT SEE ALONE" is a warning for the audience but is also a way of getting the audience interested and why they should not watch it alone and leaves them curious.
The slogan "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SLEEP" leaves a question in the audience mind it makes them wonder about their own life when they sleep which shows us the film can be very effective to readers. The red words such as violence, anger, danger, blood gives us a good idea on what the film may be about.
